Doomsday Saturday, or maybe Sunday!

Here's the headline at The Drudge Report:

It links to an article at NBC News with this subhed: "Economists warn that a catastrophe is in the making if the partial government closure continues for weeks or months."

Experts, economists hardest hit.
Economists? When's the last time you trusted an economist? The article quotes one. Look, when I was professionally committing journalism I liberally used the plural: economists, or police or ... experts.

Sure enough:
The country would face an economic hellscape if the government shutdown lasts "months or even years," as the president has suggested it might, experts tell NBC News.
Yikes! Hellscape! Experts!

Years? Really? Now watch this:
The doomsday scenario might be unlikely — the longest the federal government has ever shut down is 21 days, a record that will fall if the current closure lasts until Saturday — but it is chilling.
Might be? Chilling!

The longest shutdown on record is 21 days. This one won't reach that mark until this Saturday! Then, look out! Run for your lives! This could easily ruin your weekend!
