Tell your boss it's science

Popular in the office. Will live forever.
This really isn't new, but it's worth repeating: if you sit at a desk all day you're gonna die.

You can delay the inevitable if you get up every half hour and walk for two minutes. Then once a day for 30 minutes. This is science. You can quote the University of Otago in New Zealand as you are being fired for getting this mixed up and walking for 30 minutes every 30 minutes.

I'm confident that the University of Otago is a real place, although I wouldn't send my kid there.

Increased sitting is associated with an increased risk of a cardiovascular disease, diabetes and death from all causes. This could be rather grisly in the old cube farm.
Will live forever with a bad back.
The researchers measured blood levels of triglycerides, which are non-esterified fatty acids (otherwise known as free fatty acids), glucose, and insulin responses in 38 people over several days. High levels of triglycerides are linked to hardening of the arteries and other cardiovascular conditions.

Insulin levels are linked to cream filled, chocolate covered donuts. Which is how we know God has a sense of humor.
